Zaheer Khan to replace Stephen Fleming; CSK management with new decision

CHENNAI: Former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan was appointed as the head coach of the IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Zaheer will step into the role vacated by former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming. Zaheer Khan brings with him a wealth of experience as both a player and a coach.

Following his appointment, Zaheer said it was a great honour to be part of one of the most successful teams in IPL history. "As a cricketer, I have faced CSK on the field and thoroughly enjoyed those matches. The atmosphere created by the 'Superfans' at Chepauk made those games even more special. I look forward to joining a franchise with such a rich legacy," Zaheer stated in an official release.

Chennai Super Kings last won the IPL title in 2023. Under Fleming, CSK secured five IPL titles. After stepping down as CSK's coach, Fleming took over as the head coach of the England Test team.
