THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 31st Kerala International Film Festival (IFFK) will be organised to ensure maximum convenience for moviegoers, Minister P.C. Vishnunath has said.
The first screening will begin at 7 am, while late-night shows will also be arranged to manage crowds and reduce waiting time. The aim is to ensure that viewers do not have to wait for long periods only to miss out on watching films. Screenings will be held round the clock at Tagore Theatre, the minister said.
A special feature of the festival is the participation of ordinary film enthusiasts alongside cinema professionals. The organisers intend to preserve this inclusive and popular character of the festival. The Tourism Department has drawn up a plan to take foreign delegates attending the festival to major tourist destinations across Kerala.
Alongside cultural programmes at Manaveeyam Veedhi, traditional art performances will be staged at Kanakakkunnu over six days. The programmes are being organised jointly by the Cultural Affairs and Tourism departments. All academies under the Cultural Affairs Department will also organise events as part of the festival, the minister said. A reception committee has also been formed for the event.
