NEW DELHI: An earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale struck Uttarakhand on Tuesday night, with tremors felt in several parts of north India, including Delhi.
The epicentre of the earthquake was in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The earthquake occurred around 10.15 pm, with the epicentre located at a depth of around 13 km below the surface.
Tremors were also felt in several parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana. Residents in different parts of the country reported experiencing mild shaking following the earthquake.
