CHENNAI: Die-hard fans of actor Ajith Kumar started a new political party, declaring the actor as the Chief Ministerial face for Tamil Nadu for the 2031 elections. The party has been named Anaithu Nanbargal Munnetra Kazhagam (ANMK). The announcement was made through meetings organised by the fans themselves across various districts of Tamil Nadu, where banners featuring Ajith and the party flag were displayed.

Considering Ajith’s penchant for car racing, the party selected 'car' as their election symbol. Office-bearers of the fans' association stated that their goal is to make Ajith the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Activities are planned across the state with the 2031 elections in mind. The move is to intensify social engagement, including public welfare initiatives. There are indications that the office-bearers also plan to expand the organisation's operations to more districts. The fans aim to bring Ajith Kumar into the party's leadership.

However, sources and representatives close to Ajith Kumar clarified that he has absolutely no connection to this new political move. They pointed out that Ajith had already made it clear he has no interest in entering politics or supporting any political party. Reports indicate that the fans' association organised the political event without Ajith's permission and that neither he nor his associates were aware of the use of his images and visuals related to his racing car.
