HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old NEET aspirant committed suicide with only a few hours left for the re-exam, at Miyapur in Hyderabad. She has been identified as Sheik Sana. She was staying with her sisters and preparing for the exam. Her parents are in Kuwait.

The police believe that the stress of studying and the fear of failure she faced in previous years may have led her to take the drastic step. The police have also recovered a suicide note written in English from the spot. The note only states that no one is responsible for her death. 14 students have committed suicides in the country in the last 37 days.

The NEET UG re-examination, which is being written by more than 22 lakh students, will be held from 2 pm to 5.15 pm today. An extra 15 minutes have been given. The time for differently-abled students is till 6.20 pm. The NTA has informed that people should not believe in rumours and should come and write the exam calmly.
