A distasteful joke made at a stand-up comedy show ended up inviting backlash from the public. The incident took place in Comedian Pranit More’s show. A female doctor named Sejal Pawar made a joke about the male genital organs of the cadavers she used to attend while at work, which ended up inviting a serious flak from netizens.
Sejal, who is posted at KEM Hospital, Mumbai, has now turned her account private following the backlash.
At the show, Sejal said that she, along with other colleagues, used to compare the size of the private parts of the male corpses and make fun of them. While in the show, the revelation ended up leaving the audience in stitches and even won some applause.
However, the reaction on the internet was different. Many doctors came against this, saying that mocking a cadaver is something worse a human could do. Many others said that the jokes made on a cadaver were unacceptable and said they expect the doctors to serve society and not make crass jokes to win attention.
“If this is what doctors resort to, then what about those noble hearts who donate their bodies to hospitals for medical education purposes. Don’t make a joke of their noble deed.” one comment said.
