MUMBAI: Anita Dipke, the mother of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder and president Abhijeet Dipke, has expressed happiness after the party's protest in Delhi achieved its objective. Speaking to the media, she said she was delighted that the students' movement had been successful.

She said her only wish now is for her son to return home safely after leading a protest for the future of millions of students across the country. Abhijeet Dipke had returned to India from abroad in June amid the controversy surrounding alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) was formed in May.

Anita said she had been deeply worried about her son's safety ever since he began leading the student movement. She added that she was proud that her son had worked through a people's movement for the welfare of students across India.

"I am extremely happy. I am very proud of my son. I was terrified when he was assaulted during the protest. I was constantly worried about what might happen to him. They slapped him on the face, and when I came to know about it, I was heartbroken. I couldn't sleep and would stay awake until three or four in the morning. I couldn't even eat. Both of us lost our sleep and appetite. Since June 7, I was not able to focus on anything at home. He has achieved something truly remarkable. He is still very young, yet he has accomplished such a big thing at this age," Anita Dipke said.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned after weeks of student protests. Following the Centre's assurance that it would also accept the other demands raised by the CJP, the party announced the withdrawal of its protest.
