Woman runs to temple naked, jumps to pond with idol; mystery in death

HYDERABAD: A woman who entered a temple naked, died after jumping into the pond with an idol. She has been identified as Tejaswini, a former software engineer from Hyderabad. The woman's body was recovered from the pond, but the idol could not be found. Reports say that she was suffering from mental health issues.

The woman, ran naked along the road last night and then entered the temple. After taking the idol of the goddess in her hand, she went to the pond and jumped into the water. The investigating officers believe that the idol will be crucial evidence in solving the mystery of the incident. Based on this, an extensive search is being carried out in the pond.


As part of the investigation, the police recorded the statement of Tejaswini's mother Aruna. The investigation team is examining the suicide note believed to have been written by her, her financial transactions, and the trips she made in the days before her death in detail.


The police are also collecting information related to the rented flat where Tejaswini lived. Reports say she was paying Rs 3,500 per day and paying about Rs 1 lakh monthly. It has also been found that the two upper floors of the building were used as a lodge. Officials are also investigating whether this has any connection with the incident.


Initial reports term her death as a suicide. However, the cause of death could not be found. Police said the investigation is continuing based on CCTV footage, witness statements, and forensic examination results.
