Rs 4,500 Onam bonus for govt employees, teachers; distribution from August 17

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has sanctioned an Onam bonus of Rs 4,500 for government employees and teachers, with the distribution set to begin on August 17. Those who are not eligible for the bonus will receive Rs 3,000 as a special festival allowance. Service pensioners will get Rs 1,250 as a special festival allowance.

Pensioners who retired under the contributory pension scheme will also be eligible for the special festival allowance. The government has also sanctioned an advance of Rs 20,000 for state government employees. Employees in categories including part-time and contingent staff will receive an advance of Rs 6,000.
