Bus cleaner’s quick action saves elderly passenger from falling; CCTV footage goes viral

KANNUR: A bus cleaner’s quick response helped save an elderly passenger who nearly fell out of a moving bus while trying to board it in Kannur on Friday.

The incident took place on a Parvathy bus travelling from Kannur to Kuttiattoor. The passenger lost his balance while getting onto the bus and was about to fall outside. Athul, a member of the bus staff and a native of Kolachery, immediately caught hold of him and prevented a potentially serious accident.

The incident occurred at Patham Mile around 8.45 am. CCTV footage from the bus has since emerged, capturing the moment Athul grabbed the passenger just as he was about to fall. Another passenger can also be seen stepping in to help.

The footage has been widely shared on social media, with many users praising Athul for his quick thinking and timely intervention. His prompt action is being widely appreciated for helping avert a serious accident.
