THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar broke protocol to help a passerby who collapsed in front of Lok Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram. The incident took place while the governor was on his way to participate in the Onam celebrations.
At the time, Girish, a passerby, felt dizzy and fell on the road. It is reported that the person collapsed due to a sudden spike in blood sugar levels. As soon as the incident came to his attention, the governor got out of the vehicle and went to Girish and enquired about his health.
The governor also instructed his staff to provide necessary assistance and take the ailing person to the hospital. The staff then provided Girish with water and informed his family about the incident. Girish's house is near the Althara Devi temple in Vellayambalam.
However, Girish’s family happened to be out of station, and the Governor himself made all arrangements to take the person to the hospital and provide him with all health assistance. It was only after ensuring this that the Governor got back to his vehicle and continued with the journey.
