Heavy rains predicted from tomorrow; orange alert in four districts, warning issued

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that there is a possibility of rain in Kerala for the next five days. Orange and yellow alerts have been issued in various districts. Orange alert has been issued in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod tomorrow (28/06/2026). Orange alert has been issued in Kannur and Kasaragod day after tomorrow (29/06/2026).


There is a possibility of very heavy rainfall in isolated places. The IMD defines very heavy rainfall ranging from 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm of rainfall in 24 hours. Rainfall with thunder is expected.

27/06/2026: Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod
28/06/2026: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram
29/06/2026: Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad
30/06/2026: Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod
01/07/2026: Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod


The IMD has declared a yellow alert in the following districts. The possibility of isolated heavy rain is predicted. The IMD defines heavy rainfall (ISOL H) as a situation where rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm is received in 24 hours.
