Woman commits suicide eight months after marriage, alleges harassment by husband

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 27-year-old woman has committed suicide in Attukal. She has been identified as Aarathy of Vadasserikonam in Varkala. Her family alleged that she took the extreme step following her husband’s harassment.

The woman was found hanging at 7 pm Friday night at their rented house in Attukal. Her husband is from Bharathannoor. The couple got married eight months ago. Aarathy had sent some pictures and videos of her husband harassing her physically to her mother. Aarathy and her husband moved to Attukal seven months ago. Based on the family's complaint, the police have registered a case and started an investigation.
