THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued isolated rainfall across the state today, with a yellow alert issued for three northern districts. Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod have been placed under a yellow alert, indicating the possibility of heavy rain in isolated areas.
Separately, the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has issued a warning regarding potential sea erosion along the coastlines of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Alappuzha. Officials have attributed the alert to the "Kallakkadal" phenomenon—a surge of high swells often occurring without typical storm indicators.
This coastal warning remains in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. today. Residents and those in coastal areas are advised to remain vigilant during this window.
