Lorry hangs off Thevara bridge after crashing through railing

KOCHI: A lorry met with an accident on the Thevara bridge in Ernakulam. The lorry is hanging down after breaking the handrail of the bridge. The lorry was carrying garbage from Thoppumpady to Kochi city.

The bridge is on the way from Kundannur to Island near Thevara Junction. The lorry is hanging over the lake after breaking the handrails of this bridge. Only the lorry driver was in the vehicle at the time of the accident. He jumped off and escaped. Traffic restrictions have been imposed on the bridge following the accident.

About half of the lorry is in a state of falling to the lake. It is not clear how the accident happened. The initial conclusion is that the driver may have lost control and broken the handrail.
