KASARGOD: A 25-year-old youth working as an operator at the tourist center in Ranipuram, fell to death from the zipline. He has been identified as Sanoop, son of Krishnan of Vathilmada at Balanthode Chamundikunnu.

A woman, who had come to enjoy a zipline ride, accidentally grabbed Sanoop’s hand while wearing the safety belt and preparing to set off. Sanoop, who was not wearing a safety belt, ended up hanging from the zipline along with the woman. Although he managed to reach a point near the landing area, around 300 metres away, he lost his grip and fell into the valley below. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital, but his life could not be saved.

Sanoop had entered service only the other day. He is survived by his mother, Janaki, and siblings, Sharath and Shyam.
