Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan to inaugurate Kerala Kaumudi anniversary celebrations in Alappuzha; Vellappally to be felicitated

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 115th anniversary celebrations of Kerala Kaumudi and a felicitation ceremony for SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan, who was recently awarded the Padma Bhushan, will be held in Alappuzha on Saturday.

Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the event at 10 am at the Leo XIII HSS auditorium. He will also felicitate Vellappally Natesan. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will be the chief guest.

Kerala Kaumudi Chief Editor Deepu Ravi will deliver the welcome address. Higher Education Minister Roji M. John will also speak at the event. MLAs A.D. Thomas and B.B. Gopakumar will attend. The Vice-President will also present the Kerala Kaumudi Excellence Awards.

Later in the day, Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the Uthrattathi Vallamkali at Aranmula at 1.30 pm. He will also inaugurate the closing procession of the Onam Tourism Week celebrations in Thiruvananthapuram at 5 pm.

On August 31, the Vice-President will leave Thiruvananthapuram for Agatti in Lakshadweep at 8.15 am and is scheduled to return to Kochi at around 1.30 pm. At 4 pm, he will inaugurate the silver jubilee celebrations of Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology in Kakkanad before leaving for Delhi around 6.15 pm.
