Woman’s body found floating in river in Attingal; efforts taken to identify her

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A body of an unidentified woman was found in the river near the bridge at Kollampuzha in Attingal. The body was found floating in the river by the people standing near the Kollampuzha Park. On being informed, the Attingal Fire and Rescue team reached the spot and brought the body to the shore. The identity of the woman has not yet been established. Fire and rescue officials said she looked between 40 and 50 years old.

An Election ID card recovered from the body shows her date of birth as 1964. However, officials said the woman did not appear to be that old based on her physical appearance. Attingal Police also reached the spot and conducted a preliminary examination. Police said an investigation is underway to identify her.
