Anupama Parameswaran is an actress who became a heartthrob of Malayalees through the blockbuster film Premam. The actress, who has worked across multiple South Indian languages, has now opened up about her decade-long journey in cinema. In an interview with a media outlet, she said that the journey has been beautiful, though filled with both highs and lows.
Anupama is all set to make her comeback to Malayalam cinema after several years through Suresh Gopi-starrer 'JSK'. She also opened up in the interview about why she stayed away from Malayalam films for so long.
"I didn't deliberately stay away from Malayalam cinema. I was waiting for a good subject. If I do a Malayalam film, it has to be a really good one. I didn't want to just appear and disappear. Even though I had acted in a scene in the film Kurup, people said that they didn't realise it was me. That was actually a huge compliment for me. That's the kind of impactful roles I want to do. That is why I'm careful in choosing films here," Anupama said.
The actress also spoke about her decision to drop out of studies. " I was in the first year of my degree when I did Premam. By the second year, they said that if I didn't have enough attendance, I wouldn't be allowed to write exams. So I dropped out of my studies. Friends and people from my hometown blamed me for it. But my father and mother stood by me through that time. They've never blamed me for any decision that I took," she said.
