NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant three-nation tour today, encompassing Nigeria, Brazil and Guyana. This visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance India's engagement on key global and regional issues.
PM Modi will depart at 1 PM and is scheduled to arrive in Nigeria's capital, Abuja, at 9 PM local time. Notably, this marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Nigeria in 17 years. During his time in Abuja, discussions will focus on bolstering cooperation between the two nations across various sectors.
Following his Nigeria visit, the Prime Minister will travel to Brazil to attend the G20 Summit. The summit will address pressing global challenges, including the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict and the crisis in West Asia.
Concluding his trip, PM Modi will visit Guyana, where he will participate in the 'CARICOM-India Summit.' This summit seeks to deepen India's relations with the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), a regional bloc of Caribbean nations.
