NEW DELHI: With an eye on the upcoming assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday announced a major organisational reshuffle, appointing new state presidents across four key states: Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Tripura.
According to an official notification issued by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh, Union Minister Harsh Malhotra has been appointed as the president of the party's Delhi unit. In other significant appointments, Archana Gupta will helm the party in Haryana, Kewal Singh Dhillon in Punjab, and Abhishek Debroy in Tripura.

Malhotra succeeds Virendra Sachdeva as the Delhi BJP chief. Widely regarded as a highly influential figure within the party's ranks, Malhotra brings robust organisational expertise and deep-rooted experience in Delhi's political landscape to his new role.
Malhotra currently serves in the Union Cabinet as the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs as well as Road Transport and Highways. He is also the Member of Parliament representing the East Delhi constituency.
Malhotra’s political trajectory saw a significant boost during the 2024 general elections when the BJP fielded him from the high-profile East Delhi seat, replacing incumbent MP and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir. Malhotra secured the constituency by defeating the INDIA bloc's consensus candidate, Kuldeep Kumar.
The latest appointments signal the BJP's intent to revamp its state-level leadership and fortify its grassroots machinery ahead of crucial electoral battles.
