KOLLAM: The Kollam East police have arrested a 45-year-old Technopark employee for allegedly sexually harassing a young nurse aboard a KSRTC Superfast bus. The accused, Antony Thomas, a resident of Kazhakkoottam in Thiruvananthapuram, allegedly attempted to grope the 23-year-old Kottayam native around 3:15 AM yesterday near Polayathodu.

The victim, who was commuting to her workplace in Ernakulam, resisted the assault and immediately alerted the bus driver and conductor. The crew promptly diverted the bus directly to the Kollam East police station. Sensing trouble, Antony attempted to flee the scene but was chased down and restrained by fellow passengers before being handed over to the police. Investigators noted that Antony had traveled to Kollam to visit friends in the Vadi area. Following a formal statement from the victim, a case was registered, and the accused was produced before the court.
