THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CBI said there is no mystery over the death of the 13-year-old girl in Palayam police quarters. The doctor who conducted the postmortem had expressed doubts of the child being sexually abused. However, the CBI said there is no proof for it. The CBI has submitted a report on this at the Thiruvananthapuram POCSO court.

The CBI said the cause of the child's death was bleeding in the head and the medical board had opined that the changes seen in her private parts were natural. The crime branch which investigated the case also had the same stand. The CBI report said the 13-year-old girl had fallen to the ground as a child and injured her head.

She was found dead in a room in the Palayam police quarters on March 29 in 2023. The room was locked from inside. Nine people were subjected to a lie detector test as part of the case.
