KOLLAM: Abdul Sattar, state general secretary of the Popular Front of India (PFI), has been taken into custody by the NIA. He will be questioned in detail in Kochi. Sattar was also accused in the case where a hartal was called.
Abdul Sattar was taken into custody at the Karunya Trust office in Karunagapally. He had met the media a while ago. After this, central agencies and police reached the spot and took him into custody.
The car in which Abdul Sattar was traveling was also taken into police custody. Earlier, the police had raided the house of Abdul Sattar, but could not find him. Meanwhile, the SDPI protested in Idukki against the banning of the Popular Front. The protest was staged at 9.30 am on Wednesday. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
