MALAPPURAM: The search has been intensified for Pallipuram native Vishnujith (30), who went missing just four days before his wedding. It is reported that Vishnujith took the route via Mettupalayam in Tamil Nadu. On Monday, for a brief period, Vishnu’s phone's tower location came alive and the officers located it at Ooty Coonoor. The investigation is now centred around this location.

When Vishnu’s sister tried to call him on Monday, the call was answered but no voice came from the other side. Very shortly, the call got disconnected. It was last Sunday that Vishnu’s marriage was scheduled to take place with his girlfriend of eight years. However, just four days before the wedding, Vishnu went missing.

On Wednesday at 7.45 pm, the police received the CCTV footage of him boarding the Coimbatore bus from Palakkad KSRTC bus stand. Malappuram, Walayar and Kasaba police are jointly investigating the case. The help of Tamil Nadu police was also sought.

The investigation team also doubts the possibility of Vishnu distancing himself to get out of the marriage. The officials have also recorded statements from his close friends in Kanjikode.

According to friends, Vishnu had financial issues and recently took Rs one lakh as credit from another person for conducting the wedding. The police believe that the youngster travelled to Tamil Nadu with this money.
