Snakebite on campus: Dr Shreya of Thrissur Medical College rushed to emergency ward

THRISSUR: A paediatrician at the Government Medical College, Thrissur, was hospitalised on Monday morning after being bitten by a snake on the campus premises.
The victim, identified as Dr. Shreya, attached to the hospital’s Pediatrics Department, was reportedly bitten around 11:00 AM. According to hospital sources, the incident took place in the staff parking lot just as she was stepping out of her vehicle. The snake bit her on the back of her leg.
Medical intervention was immediate as the incident occurred on the hospital grounds. Colleagues and healthcare staff rushed Dr. Shreya to the emergency department, where she was swiftly moved to a specialised observation ward for targeted treatment.
Hospital authorities have since confirmed that Dr. Shreya is responding well to treatment and her condition remains stable.
