BENGALURU: The body of Sreenanda, a 15-year-old girl, who went missing from Chikkamagaluru in Karnataka on April 7, has been recovered. Her body was found from a depth of 1500 feet by the search team. The search for her has been ongoing for the past four days.

An extensive search was conducted for Sreenanda this morning as well. The search was jointly conducted by the police, forest department and fire brigade. The search was carried out from the bottom to the top. Meanwhile, the body was found near the Manikyadhara waterfall. The officials are trying to bring the body to the top. This is a very difficult task.

There were speculations that someone may have kidnapped the child. Sreenanda's mother had said that someone may have targeted her when she landed in Chikkamagaluru and that she may have been drugged and kidnapped when she was alone.

Sreenanda had arrived in Chikkamagaluru with her family on Tuesday evening. The child went missing near the Manikyadhara waterfall in Baba Budangiri. Thermal drones were used to inspect the steep descents and gorges.
