NILAMBUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has sharply criticized PV Anvar, the opposition and the central government. The Chief Minister's criticism was made at an election convention in Nilambur, where the by-election is being held. Reminding of CH Muhammed Koya's stand, Pinarayi Vijayan also raised the question of how the Muslim League is aligning with Jamaat-e-Islami.

The Chief Minister, who said that the UDF is tense, also accused the central government of financially oppressing Kerala by mentioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi's name. The Chief Minister also took a firm stand that LDF does not need the support of any communal force. Pointing out that the Nilambur by-election was imposed, Pinarayi Vijayan said that LDF had a big cheater with them, without naming Anvar.

'Our history has not tolerated or forgiven cheating. There was no confusion among us about the contest. Even those who are not with the LDF welcome M Swaraj. This has created a huge commotion among the opponents. The acceptance that LDF is getting has surprised UDF. For a long time, some sections of our society have been alienated by their philosophy. We live in a democratic society. We and our society do not accept some people who have no affection for that society. There is no need to explain at length what Jamaat-e-Islami is,' said the Chief Minister.
