KOCHI: K Sudhakaran MP had asserted that he would bring the party into the semi cadre system as soon as he took charge as the KPCC chief. He has proved in Kochi that he will go to any extent to maintain discipline in the party. Sudhakaran reprimanded the leaders who fell asleep during the party meeting. He made one of them stand and asked him to wash his face and come. This was at the political convention organized by the KPCC.
The meeting was attended by KPCC office bearers and people's representatives from four districts and discussed the stand to be taken against K Rail and the methods of strike to be staged. Women and housewives should be involved in the strike and the programme should get national attention and should be organized in such a way. Seminars will also be conducted at the district level. In addition, pamphlets against the project will be delivered in houses.
K Sudhakaran demanded that all workers should contribute to strengthen the party. Rs 137 each is being collected in connection with the 137th birthday of the Congress. Fifty lakhs have been collected so far, he said.
