THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V.D. Satheesan stated that the abusive remarks made by P.C. George and his son against the Catholic Church and the Deepika newspaper are reprehensible. He alleged that the BJP leadership is backing these attacks, claiming that after failing to secure expected election results, the party has resorted to a "threatening tone."
"If they attempt to attack the Christian community, secular Kerala will resist and defeat those moves. The UDF will certainly be at the forefront of protecting the Church and Deepika newspaper. The BJP central and state leadership must clarify their stance on the derogatory comments made by P.C. George and his son."
Satheesan further criticised the Sangh Parivar, describing its organisations as "wolves in sheep's clothing." He remarked that those who are hunting Christians across the country have entered the aramana with cakes only to solicit votes, but the Keralite community possesses the practical wisdom to recognise such cunning tactics. He concluded that the Sangh Parivar's agenda of attempting to seize power through threats and abuse will never succeed in Kerala.
