THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a show of political resilience following recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids, Opposition Leader and CPI(M) Politburo member Pinarayi Vijayan shared a photograph on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, saluting party workers amidst escalating political tensions across the state.
The photograph, capturing a moment of solidarity, also features CPI(M) State Secretary M.V. Govindan alongside the former Chief Minister.
"This is just the beginning," Vijayan told reporters, strongly condemning the central agency's actions. "Such measures will not weaken our resolve. The unwavering support of our party is always with us, and our comrades have proven today that this solidarity remains completely intact."
Condemning the national agency's crackdown, the opposition leader characterised the raids as a "deliberate act of aggression" explicitly targeting opposition leadership and grassroots workers.
While rallying his supporters for an extended political face-off, Vijayan struck a defiant tone, hinting at deeper underlying issues. "We stand united to face any challenge that comes our way. There is a lot more to be said on this matter, but I will stop here for now," he added, extending his gratitude to the party cadre for their swift mobilisation.
The Facebook post and subsequent media briefing come at a highly volatile time for the state, as protests and political friction continue to intensify in the wake of the central agency's controversial interventions.
