KANNUR: The sunglasses on the table will flip if Alwin moves his hands. He has won the Guinness World Record for flipping sunglasses 21 times in one minute without touching them. Mentalist Alwin Roshan, a native of Pappinissery, will also lift the table using the same technique. This 32-year-old has won five Guinness World Records.
A video of Alwin Roshan lifting a table, stool, and umbrella into the air without touching them has been shared on the official Guinness World Records pages. This is the first time an Indian has been named in the mind illusion performance called telekinesis.
This year, Alwin won his fourth Guinness World Record for performing 23 stage illusions in three minutes. He also performs programs against drug addiction and terrorism in schools without any remuneration. His goal is to win more Guinness World Records. Alwin started by reading small tricks from a children's weekly magazine at the age of eight. Alwin also studied at Gopinath Muthukad's Magic Academy in Thiruvananthapuram in 2007, during his ninth-grade year. In 2022, he first set a Guinness World Record by building a tower of 76 matchsticks in one minute. In 2023, Alwin set a second world record by lifting 11 items into the air, including a table, stool, and umbrella, without touching them. In 2024, Alwin Roshan won the Guinness World Record for the fastest magician in the world by performing 43 magic tricks in one minute while blindfolded.
