Thodupuzha family suicide: daughter also dies

THODUPUZHA: The girl of the family who attempted suicide by consuming poison due to debt also died. Silna (21), daughter of Pullaraikkal Antony, died yesterday while undergoing treatment. Antony and his wife Jessy died earlier. With this, three members of the family who were found to have consumed poison died.

The couple and their daughter were found poisoned inside the house on January 30. According to the police, Antony, who ran a bakery in Thodupuzha city, had financial issues. The family was found in such a state when the lenders reached home. Then they took them to a private hospital in Thodupuzha. Jessy (56) died on the 31st and Anthony on the 1st while undergoing treatment. Silna, who was being treated in the intensive care unit, also died at around 4 am yesterday. She is a BCA student of Al-Azhar College, Thodupuzha. The body was buried at St. George's Church in Chittoor yesterday evening. Antony's elder son Sibin is working in Mangalore.
