NEW DELHI: Following BJP's election victory in northeastern states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that the party will come to power in Kerala too.
"I am confident that in the coming years, as it has happened in Nagaland and Meghalaya and Goa over the years, a BJP-led government will come to power in Kerala too," Modi said.
He said that the people of Kerala are witnessing how Congress and CPM are pretending to be rivals in one place and become allies elsewhere.
BJP became the single largest party by winning 33 seats in Tripura. It is reported that the BJP has started the discussion for the formation of a new government. Pradyot Manikya Debbarma's Tipra Motha won 13 seats and the Congress-CPM alliance, won 14 seats.
In addition to Tripura, the BJP-NDPP alliance won in Nagaland by securing 38 seats.
After the announcement of the results, the Prime Minister thanked the voters of the states of Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland. Modi termed the victory as the result of hard work and the result proves faith in democracy.
He added that through the victory, the connection between Delhi and North Eastern states will be strengthened.
