Man arrested 19 years after he killed friend’s wife in 2004

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police arrested a man 19 years after he murdered a woman. He was absconding with his family since then. The man who was declared as an absconder was arrested for killing his friend’s wife. Narendra, a resident of Panchkula in Haryana is the accused. Narendra had been absconding since 2004 after the murder and was declared as an absconder in 2007.

He killed his friend's second wife when he failed to seduce her. The wife of Narendra's friend who worked in All India Radio was killed. The murder took place in 2004 in Paschim Vihar area of Delhi. The woman died at the hospital. On examination, it was found that the woman's neck was strangled. Narendra’s involvement became evident with the statement of the servant of the woman's house. The police also noticed that there was no attempt to robbery in the house.

Narendra met his friend's second wife for the first time during a wedding in 1997. Since then, he had started trying to seduce her. But when the woman refused, she was killed. The accused, who had been living in Delhi's Vishnu Garden fled the place with his family since the day of the murder. He was absconding in Jammu and Kashmir. From here he later shifted to Ludhiana. But the police chased and caught him even after 19 years.
