Man in lady clothes smashes iron rod into head of shopowner

THRISSUR: A man was arrested in Arimbur after he disguised himself as a lady and tried stealing from a shop nearby. The same man tried acting dumb to deceive people but later smashed an iron rod at the head of the lady shop owner. Rema who was seriously injured in the hit was shifted to the hospital. In the incident, Dhanesh was arrested by the police.

The incident happened in Prabha fabrics near Kunnathangadi at 2 pm noon. Dhanesh came clothed as a woman and tried selecting costumes, not giving any clue about his identity to the people in the shop. He was bald and clean shaven which helped him do his business with ease. He left the shop in a hurry saying about cash deficiency to purchase the selected cloth. Later, when Rema was alone in the shop, Dhanesh came and banged her head with an iron rod.

The loud cry for help from Rema alarmed the nearby locals who rushed to the shop to see a man dressed in churidar brandishing an iron rod. His identity was soon revealed and the people caught him to handover to the police. According to police, he was a former NRI. Dhanesh came back to start fancy stores in Thrissur but experienced loss. He confessed to the police about reaching the shop to commit robbery.
