Baby succumbs to injuries along with mother 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A baby who sustained burn injuries along with his mother also succumbed to it. The nine-month-old baby identified as David died while undergoing treatment in the hospital.

Anju, wife of Raju Joseph of Roja Dayle in Puthenthope, and her son were found with burn injuries in the bathroom at 7 pm last evening. Police said the woman poured kerosene on her body and set ablaze when her husband was not at home. Parents of Raju Joseph are in England. The locals said Raju along with his wife had made all arrangements to fly to England. It is heard that a person who took money from them for the England trip may have cheated them. Anju may have taken the drastic step due to a huge financial liability. Raju Joseph is an employee of a nearby society.

Though Anju, a native of Venganoor, was rushed to the hospital, her life could not be saved. Anju got married one and a half years ago. Her relatives allege mystery in the incident.
