Kin of girl, who went missing, arrested for assaulting lover 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two relatives of an 18-year-girl, who went missing from her house, were arrested in the case of assaulting her lover. The arrested are Jithu (28) and Selvaraj (58), natives of Puliyarakonam Kavinpuram, relatives of the girl. Anuraj (20), a native of Ezhukon in Kollam, was subjected to brutal harassment.

The police said Anuraj and an 18-year-old girl were in a relationship. The girl went missing from her house last Friday. Following a complaint lodged, they got an information that she was at Ezhukon in Kollam. As per the directive of the police, Anuraj appeared at the Vilappilshala station.

Soon, her relatives were summoned and all procedures to produce her in the court started. In the meanwhile, her relatives seeing Anuraj attacked him brutally. He was attacked near the Vilappilshala police station. In the melee, he had lost one of his teeth. Jithu and Selvaraj arrested were produced in the court and remanded.
