KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has initiated a suo moto case over the incident in which a puja was performed after trespassing into Ponnambalamedu. The court also sought an explanation from the government and the Devaswom Board. The Devaswom Bench took action on the basis of the report submitted by the Sabarimala Special Commissioner.

Kumily Aanavilasom Ayyappan Kovil native Chandrasekaran (Kannan), the middleman in the case, was arrested by the forest department officials and handed over to the police the other day. The investigating team said that it was Chandrasekaran who introduced Pujari Narayanan Thirumeni and the Tamil Nadu natives who were with him to the officers of the Forest Development Corporation.
