Plus Two student commits suicide; was not satisfied with exam result, say relatives

PALAKKAD: Plus Two student hanged herself. The deceased Amrita, was a resident of Palakkazhi, Alanalloor Panchayat, Palakkad District. She was found dead at 6:30 pm yesterday. It is reported that Amrita was not satisfied with her Plus Two exam results. Relatives say that the child was depressed because she did not achieve the level of success she expected. However, the police have not confirmed the cause of death and the investigation is in progress.

Meanwhile, a Plus 2 student who was being treated for allergies at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College died on her way home after being discharged. Meenakshi (18), a native of Attingal Pirappankotukonam, died the other day. Meenakshi sought treatment at the medical college for an allergy caused by wearing imitation jewellery. She was under treatment from 17th to 27th of this month.

She felt unwell yesterday, on the way back home after being discharged. Meenakshi was brought back to the medical college after she vomited in Ullur, but she died at 4:30 in the evening. The hospital authorities informed the relatives that the cause of death was a heart attack. Attingal police registered a case of unnatural death after relatives raised the issue of medical malpractice.
