KOZHIKODE: More restrictions have been imposed in Kozhikode city in the wake of the Nipah scare. According to the new restrictions formed, no gatherings will be allowed in front of places of worship. The district administration's new directive says that cutting and selling of toddy should be stopped. From now on, only one bystander will be allowed in hospitals. Visitors will be stopped in the hospital premises.
Restrictions have also been tightened in Kozhikode Beach, as the spot is a tourist favorite. Public events will be held only with the permission of the district administration. Meanwhile, in the wake of the Nipah deaths, an all-party meeting will be held in Kozhikode tomorrow at 10 am in which ministers and people's representatives will participate.
Panchayat presidents of Nipah affected areas will convene a meeting that will be chaired by Minister Muhhamed Riyas at 11 a.m. on Friday.
Meanwhile, a team from the Union Ministry of Health conducted immediate discussions with the Director of the State Health Department in Kozhikode. The results of 11 symptomatic patients will be available soon. There is an improvement in the health condition of three people currently undergoing treatment. One nine-year-old child is still placed on a ventilator.
