Film producer Joly Joseph wrote a lengthy Facebook post demanding apt punishment within the legal framework to the accused in the Mini Cooper accident case that claimed the lives of three.
Joly Joseph:
"Nothing surprising about locals roughing up Suhail Sajeev. More people are now voicing their criticism against Suhail and his father on social media. Some are criticising the three victims for their late-night travel on a scooter. However, the real villain here is Suhail, who drove with a carefree attitude after consuming liquor.
I just want three popular demands to be implemented in the case.
That arrogant young man, who drove at high speed while intoxicated, must absolutely be punished according to the law.
The affluent family of the accused should financially help the victims’ kin. Let this serve as a measure of atonement for the grave wrong committed by their son. Since there were three people on the two-wheeler, it is unlikely that any insurance compensation will be available.
It is not rare for wealthy parents to buy their children a car at a very young age. There are still many who believe that the accused’s parents had a role in the death of the three teens. I learned that the family of Suhail are very active on social media. If they could openly apologise to the emotionally distressed public, as well as to the families, friends, and neighbours of the victims, it might at least mitigate some of the vitriol and curses directed at them.
