bjp-

BENGALURU: BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal has ignited a new controversy in Karnataka. He has stated that Jawaharlal Nehru was not the first Prime Minister of India. Basangowda also said that Subhash Chandra Bose was the reason why the British left India. The MLA's controversial remark was made while speaking at a public event.

'Nehru was not the first Prime Minister of India. It was Subhash Chandra Bose. We did not get freedom by going on a hunger strike. On the contrary, Babasaheb has said in a book that the fear created by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose led to independence. The British left India after the Second World War. Subhash Chandra Bose was the first Prime Minister of independent India when independence was declared in some parts. They had their currency, flag and national anthem. That is why Prime Minister Modi says that Subhash Chandra Bose is the first Prime Minister of India.' - Basangouda Patil Yatnal said.
