THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar on Thursday said that the driving license test in Kerala will be revised. "Driving test will be made stricter from this week and the number of licenses granted will be reduced. There is no point in suspending the license. There is a tendency to get the license again by giving a fake certificate. The licensing process will be made stricter. There is no point in taking only the 'H' test. The car should be taken in reverse gear. The test will also involving parking the vehicle," the minister said. He added that when he got his driving license from the Middle East, the test involved all these procedures.
"Cameras will be installed in the test vehicles. The instruction for the same has been given. Action will be taken on complaints of misbehaviour by officers. Officials issuing licenses inappropriately would not be in that position. Those making mistakes won't be getting the license. Licenses in Kerala will carry a prestige from now on. This is a problem of human lives. Many have licenses but don't know how to drive. A license will be granted only if you pass every test," the minister added.
