Ramesh Chennithala, chairman of the KPCC campaign committee and member of the working committee, said that a collective has formed in the Congress party in Kerala and that the leaders will not do anything without consulting each other. Speaking to the 'Straight Line' program on Kaumudy TV, Chennithala said that the party made him in charge of the campaigning as it wanted to make use of him as one of the most senior leaders in the party.
"Since I became the chairman of the campaign committee, we do everything after consulting with everyone. I won't do anything without discussing it with K Sudhakaran and VD Satheesan. A unity is evident in the leadership. Even the candidates for the Lok Sabha elections were selected after consultations. A collective has formed in the Congress in Kerala. Victory in this election is necessary for the party's existence in Kerala. Although some leaders have left the party, the party is still very strong. Workers are still with the party. Some people are leaving the party because of their lust for power and fear of ED and CBI. They are driven by selfish interests. Even if everyone leaves Congress, I will not leave the party," Chennithala said.
