NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party has broken its silence on the issue of Swati Maliwal being assaulted at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence. The party admitted that Chief Minister's Personal Secretary Bibhav Kumar misbehaved with Maliwal, AAP MP and former chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women. Condemning the incident, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said the party is with Maliwal.
Arvind Kejriwal has approached the incident seriously. He also stated that strict action will be taken. Maliwal came to meet Kejriwal at nine in the morning on Monday. The personal staff got into a verbal argument with Swati Maliwal who was sitting in the visitor's room. Swati Maliwal had informed the control room that she had been assaulted. But no written complaint was filed.
Maliwal should open her mind
National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma asked Swati Maliwal to speak openly about the incident. They doubted whether the failure to file a police complaint was due to pressure. Maliwal must show courage. Rekha Sharma added that she is worried about Maliwal's safety.
