PATHANAMTHITTA: Jaimon from Vaikom and Rama from Nooranad started working at Chengannur Thripuliyoor Mahavishnu Temple by playing Thavil and Nadaswaram face to face. They worked as Devaswom employees there for a year and a half. Nadaswaram and Thavil became the melody and rhythm of love in both their hearts. They got married in this temple with the consent of their families.

The couple has been playing Thavil and Nadaswaram together at Devaswom temples for three and a half decades. They are currently working at Sastha Temple, Pathanamthitta. Both of them play the instruments for Usha Pooja at 7.30 AM, Ucha Pooja at 10.45 PM, Deeparadhana at 6.45 PM and Athazha Pooja at 7.45 PM.

Thavil recital for Palliyunarthal at 4:30 AM was started at the Thripuliyoor Temple in the year 1990. Jaimon was the first to be appointed. A month later, Rama joined to play Nadaswaram. They worked there for three years. Love blossomed while living in rented houses.

Rama's retirement next month, one more year for Jaimon

They recited their instruments together for sixteen years at Kodumthara Sree Subrahmanya Swamy Temple, Pathanamthitta. Followed by recitals at Thrippara, Omalloor and Malayalapuzha Temples. They stay at Omalloor Putthanpeethika Ajitra Bhavan. Although Jaimon is older by birth, he is six months younger than Rama in the records. Rama (55) will retire next year. Jaimon has more than a year of service left.
