THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala is bracing for heavy rains on Thursday with IMD already issuing orange alerts in two districts. Kozhikode and Wayanad have been placed under orange alert while Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts are on yellow alert today.

During the next three hours, moderate rain with thundershower is likely in Kannur and Kasaragod districts. There is also a possibility of light rainfall in Malappuram district.

People living in danger zones have been advised to move to relief camps as there are chances of storm surges around the coast.

Do not go fishing in Kerala - Lakshadweep - Karnataka coasts. Strong winds with gusts of 35 to 45 kmph and occasional gusts of up to 55 kmph are likely along the Kerala coast. The rains in Kerala will continue till the 18th of this month.
