After being a huge success in theatres, Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph film 'Drishyam 3' is also making waves on OTT. The film collected more than 300 crores at the box office. However, after the OTT release, along with appreciation, there is no stopping the showering of trolls for some scenes in the movie. Especially, there is a discussion about the red eyes of the villain character Sahadevan (Kalabhavan Shajohn). Now, actor Kalabhavan Shajohn has come out with a response to clear doubts and criticisms of the audience. The actor made public the secret about his bloodshot eyes in an interview on his wife Dini's YouTube channel.
SHAJOHN:
"Jeethubhai insisted that I come with a look enough to shock the audience during the interval. He wanted the character to be not Sahadevan, but someone more brutal. For this, Jeethubhai used the look of the villain character played by Sai Kumar in the film 'Kunjikunnan' as a reference.
Since the eyes had to remain red throughout the film, it was not practical to use regular glycerin. We used a flower called 'chundapoo', which is used by Kathakali artists, to apply it to the eyes. This flower was sourced from Thrissur. If you apply chundapo, your eyes will turn red in no time. But in some scenes, I applied it too much so that the audience felt it was weird.”
