RANCHI: A 25-year-old butcher has been arrested for brutally murdering his live-in partner. He then chopped her body into 50 pieces and dumped it in a forest. Her body remains were recovered from a forested area in Jharkhand’s Khunti district. More information of the murder surfaced the other day. The arrested is Naresh Bhengra. The police found the woman’s body remains two weeks after the murder.

The police launched an investigation on November 24 after noticing a stray dog biting the remains of a human body near the Jariagad police station. For the past two years, Bhengra had been living with his 24-year-old girlfriend in Khunti. A few days ago, he returned to his hometown and got married without her knowledge. After the marriage, the accused came to live with his old girlfriend again. Even Bhengra's wife did not know about this.

In the meantime, the murdered woman expressed her desire to visit Bhengra's house. He was in a dilemma then. After the woman's persistent requests, the two reached Bhengra's hometown by train. Before the journey, the woman had informed her mother that she was going with her lover. The accused then left the woman in the forest area of the village and went to another place. He returned after some time. Bhengra brutally raped her and then strangled her to death. He then chopped her body into 50 pieces and dumped it in the forest.

Bhengra testified that he chopped the body into small pieces to prevent the murder from being exposed. He told police that he returned home and lived with his wife after committing the crime. Meantime, the woman, who had no information about her daughter even after days, filed a complaint with the police. The information was finally revealed during the investigation.
